20-30’ ht. Similar habitat/use to Dypsis lutescens, except fronds are held out more stiffly from trunk, giving it a more stately habit. Mature tree has clustered, dark-bluish/green trunks with light horizontal rings, feathery crown of fronds, fast-growing mahogany-colored young stalks have colorful leaves. Prefers well-drained, light soils.
